MAiLOUT's readers are also participants. We enjoy MAiLOUT as a forum and an exchange, and it gives us a chance to share views and ideas. Most of the features come from contributions from people working in the field, and come in the form of press releases, e-mails, letters, reports, cartoons and photographs.

An editorial group of volunteers meets about once a month to plan topics and themes for the future, to put forward ideas for features, and to review progress. The group is open to anyone who is keen to contribute. Meetings are held in the Midlands, usually, so that as many people as possible can gather together easily. We also have a number of friends in various parts of the British Isles who contribute material but don't get involved with the editorial group meetings. The co-editors bring all the material together for editing before it goes to the designer in Leeds. After proofing, the magazine goes to Eccleshall in Staffordshire for printing and distribution.
