SCOTLAND

Visiting Arts is developing online cultural profiles to encourage international cultural exchange and collaboration. Scotland is one of the first to go live. Content includes: introduction to Scotland its arts and cultural sectors, cultural policy issues and an International exchange section, listing organisations developing collaboration. www.culturalprofiles.org.uk

NORTHERN IRELAND

Eight individual pieces of artists work dotted around the stunning Lagan Valley Island are just waiting to be explored. NORTH WEST

WALES

Voluntary Arts Wales is working with contacts in South East Ireland and North West Wales to put together a two day event at Y Galleri, Caernarfon looking at building connections across the Irish sea through art. WEST MIDLANDS

Amy Douglas is one of the country's youngest professional storytellers. She was West Midlands Arts first 'Storytelling Apprentice'. She toured in Britain, Europe and North America. Her subtle wit, gentle humour and soft, strong voice breathe life into her stories. She'll be at the MAC, Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham on 15th June at 730pm. www.storytelling.uk.net and www.macarts.co.uk

NORTH EAST

Performances of Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte are to be staged at The Sage Gateshead in July. The venue is working with the Hamling Foundation and Northern LEAs to provide a CD-ROM and website to help teachers present the opera to students in a lively way. The project will be launched on 7th June. www.thesagegateshead.org.

YORKSHIRE

The Watershed is a new participatory arts space in Slaithwaite. Originally a weaving shed, it now boasts an Activity Studio with wooden floor and balcony overlooking the river, a large workshop space and a media resource room. The Watershed is home to Satellite Arts, Impossible Theatre and Shebang! Theatre Adventures. www.thewatershed.org.uk

EAST MIDLANDS

Derby-based Surtal Asian Arts brings South Asian art into the community and has established itself as a key deliverer in the area. Established by 5 mothers who wanted their children to learn classical Asian dance, last year Surtal Asian Arts organised the first South Asian Arts festival in Derby. Creative Arts East is launching a touring digital cinema scheme to enable voluntary groups from Norfolk to host cinema in their communities. SOUTH EAST

Creative Partnerships Slough has produced a report called 'Dancing, Learning, Dancing, Learning, Dancing'. It documents and celebrates a dance programme that culminated in hundreds of students performing alongside professional dancers. It tracks the impact dance has on other learning.
