The
MAiLOUT Trust
has been involved in a number of events in recent years.
Some have been organised entirely by us, and others have been in collaboration with
Regional Arts Boards and arts agencies.
Moving the Margins
Following the success of our collaboration with Black Labrador Community Arts during com.art 99, the Greater Manchester Community Arts Festival in 1999, the MAiLOUT Trust staged a national conference this summer.
The conference, Moving the Margins, took place on Wednesday 12th July 2000 at the Derby Assembly Rooms in partnership with Q Arts and Derby City Council, and examined the themes of inclusion, participation and quality.
Delegates at Moving the Margins chose from 12 profiles of different projects scanning the spectrum of participatory and community arts practice, drawing on their own experience and work to address issues of culture, quality and participation raised in the key note addresses.
